As a technological top region, Twente has an attraction for (new) talent. To keep it that way, WIRWAR is – together with partners – committed to attracting and retaining talent for the region. They do this by organizing more activities aimed at this target group. WIRWAR is an old skool LAN party and a gaming event for companies and students in the region.

eSports Ladder

The eSports Ladder is an online gaming community where you connect with companies in a creative and informal way and where you can meet other gamers, challenge them and also compete against each other in teams. Under the supervision of Ass. Professor Guido Bruinsma, the Esports Team of the University of Twente has built this platform where gamers can meet, challenge and also compete in teams.

The connection between you and the companies arises partly from a common interest “gaming” and linked LinkedIn profiles. The algorithm determines with and against whom you play on the ladder. Based on your performance, your skills level on the ladder and in the ranking changes. By starting a conversation during the game or afterwards via the chat function, a natural interest in each other’s work, background and company develops.

The introduction of this unique platform, in which the connection between talent and companies is created through sport and science, will take place at WIRWAR.
