The subsidy schemes focus on the area (within Kennispark Twente) located on the south side of Hengelosestraat (up to the railroad tracks). This area is called the “Business & Sciencepark. Here there are all kinds of innovative (high-tech) companies working on new products and services. Many of these companies once started in a (student) room on the university campus and have grown (substantially) since then.
Sustainability scans
The first regulation allows building owners or tenants to support a sustainability scan of their properties. Such a scan provides knowledge of how sustainable the property is. Property owners can then work on this with their tenants. A total of €80,000 is available for this scheme.
Greening outdoor space
The second regulation aims to realize green, freely accessible, outdoor space within the area. For this, € 1,250,000 is available. “In short, we want to remove the fences between companies, create attractive greenery and thus encourage encounters. Because it is through (chance) encounters that the best ideas come about, which in turn lead to new solutions and products,” said Jeroen Diepemaat, alderman for Kennispark.
Regional Deal
A total of over €1.3 million is available for this development. These funds come from the Regiodeal Twente. This is an agreement between central government, the province and regional municipalities aimed at the economic development of Twente.
