Kinepolis and O’Learys are joining forces to open a new ‘eatertainment’ venue at Kinepolis Enschede. The 2,500 m² O’Learys outlet, which Kinepolis will operate under a franchise agreement, combines great food, live sport, social activities and a spacious outdoor terrace. This creates a unique leisure destination at Kennispark where visitors can enjoy a complete experience. The opening is scheduled for December 2026.
O’Learys Enschede will be located next to Kinepolis Enschede. The site, situated next to De Grolsch Veste – the home ground of FC Twente – is a perfect fit for O’Learys and its focus on sport, food and social entertainment.
“We are delighted to announce this new partnership with Kinepolis, with O’Learys Enschede as our first joint venue. Kinepolis is a strong partner with a clear focus on the experience, and together we see a fantastic opportunity to create a destination where food, sport, film and social activities come together under one roof,” said Sven Mattsson, Chairman of the Board of Directors of O’Learys Group.
In addition to O’Learys’ classic, Boston-inspired menu, the new venue offers activities such as bowling, darts, billiards, karaoke and arcade games, as well as live sports broadcasts on large screens. The venue also features flexible spaces for conferences, meetings and corporate events, with a large outdoor terrace overlooking the arena area.
“We are constantly looking for ways to enhance the visitor experience, increase the appeal of our venues and make the most of our property portfolio. This partnership feels like a logical step. The concept perfectly complements our cinema business and supports our shared ambition to offer guests an all-round entertainment experience,” said Eddy Duquenne, CEO of Kinepolis Group.
2026–2035 Objective for Kennispark Twente: Adequate facilities and a ‘Boston-style’ atmosphere
This development ties in nicely with one of our 2026–2035 objectives: there has been a clear trend towards densification in the area, resulting in the optimal use of space and the creation of a more ‘Boston-like’ atmosphere: a compact and vibrant knowledge district, where smart densification fosters a lively mix of working, learning and socialising – an environment with character, international appeal and a distinct academic vibe.
