Together with its neighbors, Eurofins Maser has developed beautiful plans to green their grounds around the property and surrounding area. One of the main drivers behind the greening plan is to create a greener and attractive environment around the property, where water infiltrates and heat stress is prevented. This not only relates to its own site, but also contributes to strengthening and making the entire Kennispark more sustainable. Thanks to Alfred Stobbelaar of Kennispark and the input of VONK, a grant opportunity with so-called Green Deal funds came their way.

ADAPTATIONS
The greening plan includes replacing bricks and concrete with green elements such as plantings to promote biodiversity. This will not only contribute to a healthier ecosystem, but also create a more pleasant and cooler environment. An open and inviting environment will be created. Furthermore, the plan is to install a large bicycle parking facility and encourage bicycling for commuting among employees. In addition to bicycle parking, charging stations for electric cars will be installed. Employees and visitors will thus have the opportunity to charge their electric cars while on site.

SUBSIDY
The Green Deal grant accelerated this project. Eurofins MASER is taking advantage of the Green Deal, subsidizing as much as 50% of the cost. This is a wonderful scheme that encourages companies to contribute to more sustainable work environments with green initiatives. In cooperation with VONK and the area organization Kennispark, Eurofins MASER is thus committed to realizing its ambition to make the park better and greener.
REALIZATION
“We want to pace ourselves, not wait but push forward and then we just hope the rest will follow,” Rudy said. In the fall, they will begin the transition from concrete to green. Besides the fact that this is the best time to plant, they want to make pace with greening. The plan is also expected to be completed by the end of this year.
A GREENER FUTURE
With this initiative by Eurofins MASER, the company also wants to encourage other companies to contribute to a greener future. Subsidies such as those provided by the Green Deal make financing them easier. The Regio Deal Twente was established with the State, Province of Overijssel, Municipality of Enschede and Twente Board.
