It was mutually established that the area organisation of Kennispark Twente has the directing and networking function and ensures that the right issues are discussed at the right tables and maintain progress.
The literal and figurative connection between the University of Twente campus and the current Business & Science Park is already partly visible and will be further expanded. The municipality will realise the parking building and the housing corporations Domijn and Veste Wonen will realise the first residential building on Kennispark’s C&D Park. Besides the start of construction of the TechArea by HMO and Institutenweg, these are the next major projects contributing to an innovation district where living, working and meeting are central.
The fact that so many parties are investing in Kennispark Twente is important and necessary. As recent studies show, the earning potential of this relatively small area is very high. Total employment among established companies at Kennispark increased by 64% from 2018 to 2024. This is significant when compared to the growth of regular business parks in Enschede, where employment increased 14% during that period. The number of start-ups at Kennispark has also doubled in the past six years.
In this periodic update, we provide insight into our activities over the past period and the results that the efforts of the area organisation together with entrepreneurs, UT and municipality have produced so far.
