We are transforming Kennispark from an industrial estate into a sustainable innovation campus, where the outdoor space and buildings function as shared facilities and the space between the buildings invites people to linger and meet, creating more liveliness at more times of the day and making Kennispark the ideal place to work, relax and exercise.
Lunch walking routes through Kennispark will already be in place by 2024. The installation of the sports equipment is one of the other initiatives contributing to an innovative campus atmosphere, where students and staff can meet and take a break from their work with a walk or a workout.
By installing the sports equipment at this location, we are preparing for plans to create a connection for slow traffic between the Twekkelerveld residential area and the heart of the UT campus (Onderzoeks- en OnderwijsPlein), which will also physically connect The Corridor location with the O&O-Plein.
Murat Son, a health coach based at Kennispark, is also enthusiastic about the equipment and will be using it for his corporate fitness programmes.
The sports equipment was financed by the Regio Deal and realised by the Kennispark Area Organisation and Lappset. Special thanks to Murat Son for his input in choosing the sports equipment and to Ingo van Dijk for making the location available.
