The Fraunhofer Innovation Platform for Advanced Manufacturing at the University of Twente (FIP-AM@UT) is a research center at Kennispark that collaborates with manufacturers to develop innovative and integrated solutions to strengthen the manufacturing industry, both regionally and nationally. The focus here is on applied research in Advanced Manufacturing.
SOLVING CHALLENGES IN INDUSTRY
In 2022, the Fraunhofer Innovation Platform for Advanced Manufacturing at the University of Twente (FIP-AM@UT) came into being, previously known as the Fraunhofer Project Center at the University of Twente. Under this new name, the strong collaboration between the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT in Aachen and the University of Twente at Kennispark will continue.
The Fraunhofer Innovation Platform for Advanced Manufacturing is a research center that collaborates with manufacturers to develop innovative and integrated solutions to benefit both the manufacturing industry and society as a whole.
FIP-AM@UT’s primary goal is to strengthen the manufacturing sector in the Netherlands, ensuring continuous adaptability, competitiveness and efficiency of the industry. They do this with a highly skilled and knowledgeable team of research engineers and support staff.
The second main goal is to attract talented and innovative engineers and help them develop further by contributing to high-quality applied research for both the industrial and public sectors. Moreover, they work together to advance technology in the manufacturing industry by working together and in project form towards results.
FIP-AM@UT is part of the University of Twente (UT), the only campus university in the Netherlands. UT offers more than fifty academic programs spread across five faculties. The University of Twente has a strong focus on personal development and encouraging and helping talented researchers to conduct groundbreaking research.
