High Tech Fund
High Tech Fund leases equipment, e.g. machines, auxiliary equipment and installations, to businesses. The goal is for the applicant to attain full ownership of the equipment by the end of the contract. High Tech Fund mainly invests in the HTSM, Chemistry and Health sectors, as well as in cross-overs with these sectors. It is intended for (starting) entrepreneurs whose high-tech production is located in the east of the Netherlands or who contribute to the region’s economic activity.
The High Tech Fund’s investments contribute to the development of a production process and/or the upscaling of the production volume for the commercial market. It is often difficult to finance the necessary equipment via investors or banks. With the High Tech Fund, the organisation will not require a pre-investment. The fund is part of the ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship in the region of Twente – the Netherlands’ foremost high-tech region.
How does it work?
After the initial intake interview, the entrepreneur will fill out and submit the High Tech Fund application form. The application will be substantially evaluated and presented to the High Tech Fund’s evaluation committee and board. Next, it will be decided if the entrepreneur is eligible for participation in the fund.
High Tech Fund is open to applications all year round. The fund’s evaluation committee convenes three to four times per year on fixed dates to evaluate the applications. High Tech Fund is supported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, the Province of Overijssel and the Region of Twente.
