ThermoPlastic Composites Research Center

Groundbreaking research into the application of thermoplastic composites.

ThermoPlastic Composites Research Center

The ThermoPlastic Composites Research Center (TPRC) is a research center that had it’s focus on thermoplastic composites for aviation and automobile industry and remaining industry applications. Boeing, Fokker Technologies, TenCate Advanced Composites and the University of Twente are the founders of TPRC.

ThermoPlastic Composites Research Center

Thermoplastic composites are strong and light materials. The material is been used for some time on an advance in the car and aircraft industry. For example, the new aircraft types from Boeing and Airbus already consist of half the weight of composite materials, of which a growing proportion is thermoplastic composite. This increase also creates challenges, for example in the area of connections between different materials, such as between metals and thermoplastic composites but also in the recycling of thermoplastic composites. In its research, TPRC makes an important contribution to this and clear the road for a broader application of thermoplastic composites.

TPRC has a lab with high-quality research and state-of-the-art research facilities. As partner of  TPRC you’ll get access to the lab and the international expert network with more than 20 years of experience in research and development of applications with thermoplastic composites.
