The ground-breaking ceremony has taken place: construction of the second Bundle residential community has officially begun. Bundle and De Groot Vroomshoop celebrated this festive moment together with their partners. The new Bundle location is being built at the Kennispark Business & Science Park, directly opposite the UT campus. This innovative residential concept adds a new form of living to Kennispark, alongside the 3,000 student rooms already available on the UT campus. Bundle@Kennispark offers young, ambitious people an inspiring living environment where living, working and meeting are central, and reinforces Kennispark’s position as a leading innovation area. The Bundle complex is scheduled for completion in early 2027.

Sustainable living in solid wood
Bundle@Kennispark will be a modern and sustainable residential complex, consisting of 183 solid wood modules spread over eight floors. In addition to residential studios, there will be various meeting spaces, making the building more than just a place to live: it encourages people to meet and connect. The façade will also have a contemporary, natural look, based on the design by SeARCH architects. The construction is once again in the hands of De Groot Vroomshoop. ‘With Bundle@Kennispark, we are realising the first eight-storey wooden residential complex in the Netherlands. We are proud that, with our expertise in timber construction, we can once again contribute to the growth and sustainability of Enschede,’ says Wim Sturris, director of De Groot Vroomshoop.
The power of Bundle
The second Bundle complex is aimed at students in the final phase of their studies, recent graduates, researchers (PhD), entrepreneurs and workers at Kennispark. The combination of living, working and innovation creates a vibrant area that is attractive to entrepreneurs, students, researchers and residents. The concept builds on the success of the first Bundle community, where the first residents moved in in June 2024. Bundle offers residents an inspiring and social living environment in which meeting, collaboration and personal connection are central. “At Bundle, you see what happens when people who really need it start living together. Residents inspire each other, undertake activities together and form close friendships and wonderful initiatives,” says Lisette Rietman, Community Builder Bundle.

With Bundle, Domijn and Veste Wonen want to attract young talent to Enschede and contribute to the further development of Kennispark into a leading innovation area. Young people are given the opportunity to build a future in Enschede. In the Bundle communities, valuable connections are formed between residents, helping to build a future-proof city full of growth, creativity and innovation.
