The Gallery at Kennispark Twente is being expanded by approximately 4,000 m2 . This expansion is necessary to meet the high demand for office and lab space at Kennispark Twente. The current multi-tenant building, where knowledge and technology come together, houses Designlab University of Twente, start-ups, scale-ups as well as established companies and is almost fully leased. In addition to additional office and lab space, investments are being made in the quality of the building and general area to encourage collaboration between companies. Work began in early April and is expected to be fully completed by early Q2 next year.

Demand for office and lab space exceeds supply
The more than 4,000 m2 expansion will be achieved by adding the first floor to the building. This will make additional office and lab space available and give the common areas a renewed look and feel. The offices and lab spaces will be delivered as shells and comply with ML1 class, with basic (connection) facilities, but can also be upgraded to ML2 class level. Parking will be expanded around and on the site and there will be more charging stations for electric cars.
The Gallery now has EPA label A and a BREEAM Very Good in-use certification. In March 2022, 850 solar panels were installed on the roof. With the expansion, new sustainable installations are being implemented and we are looking at where the existing installations can be further optimized in terms of energy and technology. Upon completion and commissioning of the expansion, new labels and certification will be sought.

The Gallery is centrally located on campus and near the university buildings. Incubator and start-up facilitator Novel-T is located in The Gallery and offers incubator programs and takes care of the ecosystem and the connection between knowledge and market. The flexible multi-tenant building offers a total concept of housing options with a community environment. In addition to office and lab space (expanding with ML1 class and possibly ML2 class), the building has extensive meeting facilities, general meeting space, restaurant and a grand café.
