After the success of the previous edition of the Kennispark Regatta, a new (3rd) edition will be organized this year! The edition will take place on Friday, June 23, 2023 and will start around 15:00-16:00 depending on the number of participants. The Kennispark Regatta is a rowing event organized by the student rowing association Euros for companies.
WHO IS EUROS?
Euros is the student rowing association in Enschede, where students can learn to row hard and compete against other students. Mostly rowing is done on the Twente Canal, but also in other places you can find members of Euros throughout the Netherlands during races or training weekends. The address is Auke Vleerstraat 99 in Enschede.
WHAT IS THE KENNISPARK REGATTA?
The Kennispark Regatta is a rowing event for companies. We aim for as many companies from Kennispark as possible, but other companies are also welcome. The first edition was set up in 2017 and last year was the second edition. During this event, companies will compete among themselves for a prize and, of course, the honor. This is done through a series in which you can qualify for different finals, per final one team can crown itself the winner under the encouragement of colleagues and supporters. Between races there will be student activities for both rowers and supporters. After the competition, there will be an extensive barbecue with a fun Friday afternoon drink.
To prepare you and your team for the mutual battle, each participating boat will receive two organized training sessions in the month prior. These training sessions will be scheduled in advance by mutual agreement. All this makes it a very nice multi-day company outing.
We would like to invite you and your colleagues to participate in the Kennispark Regatta and have a fun and sportive time.
WHAT DOES ROWING ENTAIL?
The rowing during the training and the regatta will be done in a so-called C4+. This is a stable rowing boat that holds four rowers and a coxswain. Euros will provide you with a coxswain every training and competition. It is therefore necessary to be present with four colleagues during the trainings. We also recommend that you have one substitute per boat in case someone unexpectedly cannot participate in a training session. The substitute may of course also participate in the barbecue.
