Kennispark Twente is getting a makeover. We are adding an Innovation District that literally and figuratively connects the University of Twente campus with the current Business & Science Park. A district where living, working and meeting are central. Where there is always activity. Where knowledge is shared and where business and researchers find each other even more easily. For the new innovation district, we are building the multi-tenant Next Twente building, a residential building for young professionals working at the UT and Kennispark and a parking building between now and the end of 2025.

For the purpose of these planned developments, work will soon begin on the relocation of cables and pipes along Hengelosestraat between Auke Vleerstraat and Palatine.
Planning
Work will start in week 17 (April 24) and is expected to take approximately 6 weeks. During the work you may experience some inconvenience (dust, noise, work traffic and noise). When moving the cables and pipes, the existing road will be crossed in three phases, namely the old parallel road on Hengelosestraat, Institutenweg near the Demcon building and Palatijn near Broeierd. Traffic will be temporarily diverted. We ask for your understanding.
Construction of mobility hubs
During the month of May, 4 extra mobility hubs will be constructed. One at the Thermen opposite number 1, next to the exam location of the UT. One at the intersection Drienerbeeklaan – Hengelosestraat. Two on the Hengelosestraat near numbers 585 and 531-545. The inconvenience from this work will be minimal.
What else is coming in 2023
After the cables and pipes are relocated, the parallel road along Hengelosestraat, between Auke Vleerstraat and Palatine will be removed and replaced by a temporary construction street on a new alignment. The properties in the area will remain accessible as usual.
Following this development, Institutenweg on the north and south sides will be redesigned in phases to further green the public space. You will be further informed about this in due course.
